Pakistan’s embattled Prime Minister Imran Khan is facing a serious issue regarding his post where he has three options after “establishment”. Resignation, early elections, or a no-confidence vote, three are options from which PM Imran Khan has to choose one after the no-trust motion has been filed against him by the opposition in the parliament. PM Khan told ARI news that he will go for an early election option as first he cannot think of elections and second instead of going to a no-confidence vote he prefers to fight till the end.
He also said that he will make a strategy if early elections are held and the opposition’s no-trust moment somehow fails.
He further said that if no motion move failed on Sunday, they still cannot run the nation with defectors present in the government. He found it best to have early elections and asked Pakistan’s people to give him a simple majority so he could be free from making compromises.
According to Khan it (no-trust motion) is a conspiracy that he knew about since last August and said people from the opposition were meeting Nawaz Sharif in London. He said it was all planned and his life is also at risk with his character assassination along with his wife.
On March 31 he told his people that a foreign country disapproved of his premiership and demanded to remove him by passing a No-Confidence Motion to ‘forgive’ Pakistan. The foreign country is not happy with its independent foreign policy and the threat memo stipulated his removal from the post of prime minister along with a regime change.
Imran Khan needed 172 votes to win, in the lower house where 342 are total members. But it is claimed by the opposition that they have 175 lawmakers supporting them, and the PM is needed to resign now.
A Pakistan minister also said that even if the Current PM loses the election, he still will remain in the PM position and hold office until Pakistan finds a new leader as the constitution has no specification about the time it will take to elect a new leader.
Now everyone’s eye will be on Sunday’s result and no one knows what is the fate of Pakistan. It’s the history of Pakistan that no single Prime Minister stayed for a full five-year term, and what Sunday will bring no one knows.
