When is Prime Day in the year 2022?
Amazon recently announced in a press statement that Prime Day will take place on Tuesday, July 12 and Wednesday, July 13 in 2022, after teasing the event in its first-quarter earnings report. After moving it back to October due to the epidemic in 2020, Amazon moved it up to June in 2021 due to the Olympics.
What is Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is a once-a-year site-wide sale for Prime members. It was initially held in 2015 to commemorate Amazon’s 20th anniversary, and was billed as a “one-day-only event loaded with more discounts than Black Friday, just for Prime members worldwide.” In the years afterwards, it has expanded into a 48-hour festival, with a week or two of teaser deals running up to it. “Prime Day” is a misnomer at the moment.

What are the best Prime Day offers going to be?
Amazon’s favourite excuse to discount its products is Prime Day, so anticipate a slew of offers on Echo smart speakers and displays, Fire tablets, Kindles, and Blink and Ring-branded security gear. Older goods will be extremely cheap, especially if purchased in bundles, while everything from Amazon’s most recent product introduction, such as the Smart Thermostat, Echo Show 15 wall-mounted display, Halo View fitness tracker, and Glow projector/video-calling device, will almost certainly receive the new all-time low price. Deals on Amazon’s Internet Famous storefront’s TikTok-famous items would be a wonderful Prime Day addition, if only so that no one has to pay full price for that stupid $350 toaster.
Who else is vying for Prime Day’s attention?
Walmart sponsored its version of Prime Day for the first time this year: Walmart+ Weekend. Walmart+ members got $200 off 2020 iPad Airs, a $49 Keurig, and multiple Xbox Series S bundles during the sitewide deal, which ran from June 2 to 5. There is no news yet on whether the big-box retailer would revive The Big Save, a separate event that has previously coincided with Prime Day, but it will not be able to pass up another chance to steal a piece of Amazon’s pie.
Anti-Prime Day has been held by other stores in the past, including Best Buy, Target, and even eBay, and we will almost probably see it again this year.
