A plane carrying 133 passengers crashed in Teng County, Wuzhou of Guangxi region,  Southern China. As per the Chinese local media reports, the jet was a Boeing 737 passenger plane operated by China Eastern Airlines. The crash of the plane caused the fire in the mountains and the death toll is still to be confirmed. The plane was just 6 years old and the reason for its crash is still unknown.  

The flight MU5736 which was carrying 133 people (123 passengers and 9 crew members) in it, was flying to Kunming and departed from Guangzhou at 1:01 PM. The arrival of the flight was scheduled for 3:05 PM. But the plane crashed before reaching its destination on Monday. 

According to China’s Plane crash history, The Boeing 737 Max planes are not in use since the crash happened at Lion Air Flight 610 in 2018 and at Ethiopian Airlines in 2019. But the thing that is to be noted is that the plane that has crashed does not belong to the Max family and is a Boeing 737-89P.  The plane was flying at an altitude of 29,100 feet at 0620 GMT. But soon, in 2 minutes and 15 seconds, the plane came down to 9,075 feet, according to the FlightRadar24 data. The speed of descending was so high that in the next 20 sec it was just 3,225 feet above sea level. 

The Civil Aviation Administration of China said in an online announcement  “lost airborne contact over Wuzhou”. He further said, “At present, it has been confirmed that this flight has crashed” and they have dispatched a working group to the scene. 

According to one local villager, the plane has completely fallen apart, he told the media.
